The Wheeland Brothers are surfers making music for surfers. It’s the Newport Beach shortboarder/Sublime attitude colliding with with the San-O chill-out longboarder/Jack Johnson vibe. We describe our music as acoustic beach rock and ukulele hip hop reggae. Our songs cover a full spread of punk reggae, acoustic hip hop, and ukulele bonfire jams, and hit all sides of the Southern Californian beach culture flavor.
A typical Wheeland Brother’s practice usually involves Marcus listening to other bands through the walls at our practice facility and imitating every bad bassline he hears.
A typical Wheeland Brothers practice begins with Brandon watching youtube videos of skate tricks that he almost died trying yesterday. Enormous containers of cheese puffs and generic cinnamon toast crunch are always near by.
A typical Wheeland Brothers practice ends with Nate recounting all the songs we practiced, but in his muppet-voice. I guess that’s why the kiddies love us. errrr
A typical Wheeland Brothers practice involves Travis showing up with some ocean-related injury from the past week–still bleeding. Or a near drowning experience.
